Toddler & Kindergarten

In our Kindergarten programme, our children enjoy their learning experience through the “Montessori Applied Method and Workboard Concept”, where they develop different skills according to the pace of their individual growth. The Montessori Method values the most important 5 learning qualities for children aged 2-6, which are Respect, Absorbent Mind, Timing, Environment and Self Learning Process.

Learning Method

Prep adopts the Montessori Method and “We make learning a happy experience through play” is our motto. The campus enables a setting where your child can foster his or her social and physical development outside, while inside their educational development is well underway. It is our aim to develop well-rounded, competent, and happy children who think for themselves, are physically active, and socially integrated. We strongly believe that enhancing a child’s natural creativity, initiative and self-confidence allows them to develop positive feelings about themselves that will enable them to continue their success in their chosen career in the future.

The Creative Child

The philosophy of Prep International School focuses on developing the whole child. This is to help them achieve self-satisfaction and become successful in the future. Our curriculum centers on creative thinking and strong academics. Our students learn at an early age to be able to think for themselves and how to identify, analyze, and solve problems.

Montessori Methods

The Montessori approach is based on the view that young children learn by responding to their surroundings and by “hands-on” learning. The primary function of our school therefore, is to provide settings and situations in which the children learn from their experiences. The Montessori Method is applied in our classrooms, in order for our children to explore, discover, manipulate, and gain a range of skills using the special materials designed for their learning.

Work-board Approach

At Prep Kindergarten Program, we use the Work-board approach as a classroom management tool. The students are divided into 4 groups with varied ability levels. Each group has 3-5 members. Students are assigned four Work-board tasks to complete in an 80 minutes period (20 minutes each task). Each Work-board task must be completed before the student can move to the next task. Students move at their own pace, not as a group.

In the Work-board, there are several centers such as Literacy theme bases, math, computers, listening, science, art, pretending play, blocks, Montessori and Chinese. Each teacher will be at each center so the teacher can work on one basis with the student. All Work-board tasks are multileveled to allow for student success.
